Hear a trio of classical stars – violinist Nicola Benedetti, cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason and pianist Benjamin Grosvenor – tackle Beethoven's Triple Concerto in this week's Feature Album. The three musicians perform the epic concerto with the Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Santtu Matias Rouvali.
"It's a piece full of so much spirit, playfulness and life," says Kanneh-Mason, "and I love the combination of intimate chamber music-like conversations between the three soloists, and the colourful and powerful sound of the orchestra."
Alongisde the Triple Concerto are Beethoven's wonderful folk-song arrangements, sung here by Canadian bass-baritone Gerald Finley.
