Ida Handel's first session recording with Anchelle & Czech Philharmonic was reprinted with the world's first SACD. In the domestic edition, since it was reissued on a regular CD in July 2004, it will be the first release in about 14 years. The jacket photo uses the original LP design, renews the sound quality and reprints.
Originally, Ida Handel performed for the first time with a special concert on October 18, 1957 with Anchelle & Czech Philharmonic (Beethoven and Sibelius Violin Concerto), and then on May 13, 1962, Prague Spring Music At the festival, he played Stravinsky's Violin Concerto and Ravel's Zigane, and in 1964 recorded a session of this album, including Zigane at that time. Each of the above live recordings can now be heard on Splaphone imports. The recording of this album was recorded at the same time (March 25 & 26) by Souk at the same time, recording the Angel & Czech Philharmonic and Mendelssohn (released in the first series TWSA1046 in this series). Both are completely different types of violinists, but Angel plays exquisite accompaniments, highlighting their strengths. Even on this board, while taking full advantage of the soloist's beauty, the witty reaction is wonderful, and not only the beautiful sound of Ida Handel, but also the tone of the backing orchestra is one of the listening points. The recording condition is very good, just like the souk board, and the effect of DSD conversion will be noticeable.
The recordings are further refined with the warm sound of Splaton's unique, high-frequency range, and the overtone components and the realism of the instrument have been increased. Despite the earliest stereo recordings, the sound of the Spuraphone label, which originally has a good texture, will show its true value with the latest DSD in 2018. In addition to the unified tone of the stringed instrument group including the violin part, the beautiful sound like the velvet of the woodwind at that time is more wonderful than before.
In this new project, a completely new, direct DSD-converted sound source was used to create a master for SACD from the original analog master tape held by Sprafon AG of the Czech Republic. After DSD mastering in Japan, it will be released as a SACD hybrid board. Recent technological advances in digitization (A / D conversion) are remarkable, and it has become possible to extract master sound sources more sophisticatedly and precisely. You can enjoy the sound quality very close to the master with SACD. The CD layer uses a new DSD mastering sound source this time. Many of the masterpieces since their first appearance on LP will be more impressive than ever with the latest DSD in 2018. The effect is surprising, and the sound quality is so sharp that it can be rediscovered.
